Brucellosis is a contagious disease of livestock. It affects cattle, swine, sheep, goats, camels, equines, and dog. It may also infect other ruminants, some marine mammals and humans. The disease is characterised by abortions or reproductive failure. In endemic areas, vaccination is used to control the disease.
