ABOUT GAJO LIVESTOCK

The GAJO LIVESTOCK startup, in its relentless pursuit of human well-being, is actively committed with great dedication and determination to strengthening food security and contributing to social protection for populations through its platform. Active for 3 years on the ground, addressing the issues that breeders and livestock stakeholders face in their daily tasks—such as frequent production disruptions due to lack of financial, material, logistical, and technical resources, as well as limited access to services from experts in breeding, nutrition, and animal health—GAJO LIVESTOCK has created a platform that enables breeders and all partners in the value chain to maintain smooth, growth-oriented relationships for the development of the livestock sector. The main objectives are, among other things, to empower breeders, increase productivity, reassure consumers about the quality of the products consumed and services provided, and contribute to the well-being of populations worldwide through the consumption of healthy, standardized, controlled, and certified products by professionals in breeding and nutrition.

We are honored by the recent appointment of our promoter, Mr. FOTSO NGASSA, as Ambassador for Entrepreneurship, Growth, and Youth Employment Creation by the PRESIDENT OF THE NETWORK OF PARLIAMENTARIANS FOR THE PROMOTION OF PRIVATE ENTERPRISE AND THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY, HONORABLE ROGER MELINGUI. As the spokesperson for youth and the promoter of the digital platform GAJO LIVESTOCK, the actions on the ground have earned the platform six awards across Africa for its innovative solution that strengthens food security and ensures social protection. As part of its broad roadmap, GAJO LIVESTOCK plans to organize massive campaigns with clear designations, coaching programs, training, capacity building, awareness seminars, information sharing, and support for disadvantaged individuals to facilitate access to healthcare, as well as supporting producers to ensure the continuous availability of quality foodstuffs in the fight against food insecurity and malnutrition. The global vision is to improve human well-being through innovative solutions, thereby improving the living conditions of populations in Cameroon, as we believe that proper nutrition is essential for growth and human development. Our platform has been recognized across Africa for its innovative approach to food security and social protection.

About the Founder:

Passionate about livestock farming since 2006, young entrepreneur FOTSO NGASSA decided to revolutionize the industry. He decided to offer all organic and eco-friendly livestock products through Gajo Fresh Meat, a professional establishment created to meet the growing demands of housewives in the Cameroonian market.

A small office, many challenges… A few months later, entrepreneur FOTSO NGASSA created his own central butcher shop (which supplied more than 9 stores daily) with over 38 permanent employees, 30 apprentices, and several wholesalers.

In 2018, following a land dispute that he was unable to resolve, FOTSO NGASSA saw his butcher shops destroyed. This automatically led to the closure of his stores, the cessation of his activities, and the dismissal of his employees. It was a heavy blow for this young entrepreneur, who saw years of hard work go up in smoke.

Continuing his major goal: solving an ecosystemic problem—strengthening food security and ensuring social protection—entrepreneur FOTSO NGASSA established an innovative and impactful solution in 2022, called GAJO LIVESTOCK.

Mission:

Our mission is to educate the population on the traceability of products, raise awareness about the risks of poor nutrition, and provide business opportunities to both rural and urban populations. Our role is to help communities create a sustainable future by increasing productivity in a unique biodiversity system.

Objectives:

Our goal is to assist producers in both rural and urban areas, create a producer-buyer connection using innovative technologies, encourage women and youth to be self-sufficient through livestock farming, standardize production systems, and create risk management systems related to social protection. All this aims to establish “food security and social protection” in close collaboration with veterinary services, livestock and nutrition experts, quality experts, and social protection organizations to protect both humans and the planet.

• Training seminars for women and youth in urban and rural areas on new technologies for self-sufficiency;

• Representing Cameroon in Morocco for the Africanity Trophy Foundation;
